2010-07-16 BDA Group joins Kiwa

The boards of BDA and Kiwa Group have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to consider the possibility to join forces in the area of testing, certification and consultancy for the construction market. As a result of the collaboration, a comprehensive quality authority for all sectors in construction and suppliers may arise. The intention is particularly motivated to ensure the continuity of the renowned quality brands Kiwa, BDA and KOMO and ensure the effectiveness of services.

John Sanders, Managing Director BDA Group: "In terms of services, culture and thoroughness Kiwa and the BDA group are complementary. Because BDA will join a larger party we will be able to develop new services for our customers, for example in terms of sustainability and supply chain certification. Moreover, this will open new possibilities to position the BDA services in the international market.” Kiwa CEO Paul Hesselink: "Kiwa has been the largest certification institute for the construction market for years now, but it was impossible to completely satisfy customers because we could not offer a complete set of services. With the Kiwa and BDA services in one portfolio, customers only have to knock on one door for a complete range of certification services." Although other services of Kiwa and BDA, besides certification, are being promoted separately on the market, we will be able to offer synergy, as in 'green' construction. With the new cooperation and the earlier merger with BMC certification a full service knowledge and quality company for the entire construction market arises.

Kiwa is an international quality authority, permanently occupied with improving processes, products, employees and organizations. We do this by providing certification processes, training, inspection, consultancy, research and our technological expertise. Kiwa is active in almost all segments, ranging from energy and water supply, construction, Agri-food, healthcare and corporate social responsibility. Kiwa has around 900 highly qualified employees in over 30 offices in eight European countries and China.

BDA Group is known as the organization with advisory units in façades and roofs, for almost thirty years. The BDA Group consists of BDA Geveladvies B.V., BDA Dakadvies B.V. and the BDA Keuringsinstituur B.V.. BDA Advice consists of the departments Environment, Security and Infrastructure.
The strength of the BDA Group is in the unique combination of the consultancy  companies BDA Geveladvies B.V. en BDA Dakadvies B.V. in relation with the laboratory of BDA Keuringsinstituut B.V. This does not only mean that damage surveys and renovation consultancy are supported by laboratory analysis, but also prototype research and product development make use of the extensive testing facilities.
